Temple Baptist is happy to support missions.  We seek to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ by proclaiming the Gospel, baptising and making disciples, and establishing churches in all the ends of the earth.  We believe that when we feed the hungry and thirsty, give shelter to the homeless, clothe the needy, tend the sick, and visit those in prison, we are doing so for Christ (Matthew 25:31-46).

As a church, we support, both in prayer and in finances, various workers around the world who teach, supply medical help, care for others, and preach the gospel.  We support a number of different workers from various mission boards around the world and also in Canada.  We support local ministries such as The Annex, Lambton Crisis Pregnancy Centre, and The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches.

Temple Baptist sends a team from our congregation on a short term mission trip every year.  Our Missions Board also supports a number of various church members in diverse short term trips throughout the year.

Missions at Home
Children, youth, and adult ministries each have a winning (outreach) component associated with their ministry. Children’s Salvation Sundays, Alpha, Christmas Hamper Project, Ladies Homemakers Morning Out, Summer Camps, and lots more are regular occurrences at Temple.  Each year dozens of people make professions of faith because of Temple’s ministry.

Missions Beyond
Temple’s first missionaries were sent out to South America in the early 1950s.  Since then, dozens have been sent around the world from the Temple Church family.  Temple supports over thirty missionaries or mission agencies with a significant percentage of the annual budget dedicated to missions support.

Short-Term Missions
One of Temple’s Value statements is ‘Missions Involvement.’  Our hope is many will experience a short-term missions trip as part of their spiritual development.  Annual missions trips have sent teens to seniors to such places as Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Haiti, and France.

 the Annex

The Annex is a local youth drop-in centre here in Sarnia located at 234 Maxwell Street, across from the skatepark.  Ralph Jarvis, the Director, works with a team of volunteer leaders in reaching out to Sarnia's 'at risk' teens.  This includes any youth who is 'at risk' of not knowing Jesus Christ as Savior!  The Annex provides a place for kids to play pool, video games, table tennis, air hockey, etc., and to attend special events like concerts and in finding lasting healthy friendships.  Three times a year the Annex partners with Temple Baptist and the community in holding a Clothing Drive, complete with a free breakfast and other needed household items and Christian books.
