COMPASS CLASSES

Semester:  September 12 – December 12, 2010

  1. The Realities of Life

A DVD study in the Book of James (chapters 3-5) located in the South chapel with Pastor Greg MacRobbie (7 weeks starting October 03).

We’ll be studying this very practical N.T. book investigating how to overcome our habits, tongue, conflict, judging others, procrastination, greed, impatience and sickness.  A participant book is required ($7).

  1. The Path Toward Passion

A LADIES class on spiritual growth (discipleship) located in the north chapel with Erica Lazarakos (13 weeks starting Sept. 12).

Ladies will be investigating the keys to growing in the faith.  Using Pastor Dean Trune’s book, you’ll study nine spiritual disciplines that connect your heart to God’s heart.  A participant book is required ($10).

  1. Living a Thankful Life

An adult class located in Room #132 with Don Dafoe (13 weeks starting Sept. 12).

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says “In every thing give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  This small verse in scripture holds a tremendous significance.  We want to study the biblical model for thanksgiving in depth.  Our study will give us a new and refreshed concept of thanksgiving, helping us deal with our earthly concerns, put us into the very presence of God and release the power of God that we find lacking in our lives.  Come and gain insight to the key to finding God’s will for your life as we touch some very thought provoking passages of scripture in the area of praise and thanksgiving.

  1. Value-Packed Parenting

A PARENTING class (children and teens) located in Room #133 with Pastor Dave Lane (7 weeks starting October 31).

A DVD series by Christian family counselor, Dr. Kevin Lehman.  In our 7 sessions, we will discover and investigate tools for effective parenting.
