We are a church that wants people to: (1) Love God Passionately, (2) Serve Neighbours Generously, and (3) Grow in Christ Intentionally. We do this by creating spaces where people are inspired and equipped become more like Jesus and live out their lives as his apprentices (disciples). Becoming a member at Temple Baptist Church involves more than simply putting your name on a list. We want you to move beyond participation and into partnership with us. This one morning seminar will provide you with an overview of who we are as a church, what we believe, and ways you can get involved. The Good and Beautiful God
We all have ideas that we tell ourselves about God and how he works in our lives. Some are true--but many are false. The path to spiritual transformation begins here.Turning to the Gospels, this study invites you to put your ideas to the test to see if they match up with what Jesus himself reveals about God. This is a deep, loving, and transformative study. It will help you discover the narratives that Jesus lived by--to know the Lord he knew and the kingdom he proclaimed--and to practice spiritual exercises that will help you grow in the knowledge of our good and beautiful God. When: Mondays from 7:00-8:30pm from January 29 until April 1 Where: Temple Baptist Church (Boardroom) Cost: One book is needed for the course ($20) |
The Good and Beautiful Community (Men's Study) In this Good and Beautiful Series book, James Bryan Smith helps us know how to live in relationship with others as apprentices of Jesus. "Apprentices of Jesus are not part-time do-gooders," he writes. "They live in continuous contact with the kingdom of God, and are constantly men and women in whom Christ dwells. They do not sometimes tell the truth, sometimes live sacrificially or sometimes forgive. There are myriad opportunities for us to impact the world in which we live." Smith’s insight and humility as a fellow learner with us will lead you to live in authentic ways as a good and beautiful community of Christ-followers, shining the light of the Spirit into every relationship. When: Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30pm, from January 23 until March 19 (* Please note: only 1 spot remains available for this study) Where: Temple Baptist Church (Boardroom) Cost: One book is needed for the course ($25) |
